R. L. Cope

R. L. Cope, 82, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016. Mr. Cope was born August 25, 1933 in Macon County to the late John and Etta Hidgon Cope. He was married to the late Emma Lee Evans Cope who preceded him. He worked many years in the Furniture business and was a member of Aquone Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and their friends.Survivors include his son, Scotty Cope (Barbara) of Topton, NC; two grandchildren, Dalton Cope and Dylan Cope; and one brother, Delmar Cope of Dillard, GA.He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Lee Cope, a daughter, Melissa Dawn Cope; a grandson, Kevin Cope; a great-grandson, Hunter Cope; and three brothers, James Ben Cope, Harold Cope, and Andy Cope.

A Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 22, 2016 at the White Oaks Flat Baptist Church with the Rev. S.J. Waters and Rev. Doyce Waters officiating. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Aquone Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Macon Bateman, Curtis Moore, Josh Fulford, Tristan Howard, Tanner Rowland, Colen Solesbee.
