Rebecca S. Henson

Franklin, NC - Rebecca S. Henson, 84, of Franklin, NC passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Pinkney Wilson Smart and Bertha Cunningham Smart. She was married to the late James Hoover Henson who died in 1991. Mrs. Henson was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a beautician; loved reading, volunteered for years for TEFAP (Humana Food Drive) and attended Wide Horizon Community Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Lynn Henson Bingham and husband Harvey, Beth Henson Tallent and husband Jerry E. and Jane Henson Downs and husband Ronnie all of Franklin; six grandchildren, Michelle, Laura, Paul, Lucas, Zachary and Casey and two great grandchildren, Owen and Greyson.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Smart.

A memorial service will be held, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 11:00 am at Wide Horizon Community Church with Rev. George Mechling officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:30 11:00 am, thirty minutes prior to the service at the church.
