Richard "Dick" Lee Mashburn

Franklin, NC - Richard "Dick" Lee Mashburn, age 78, of Franklin, NC, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012. He was born in Macon County, the son of the late Henry J. and Ruth Angel Mashburn. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He worked at Burlington Industries for eleven years and retired from Belden Electrical Cord Industries, where he was a supervisor. He liked to hunt and fish and coached youth football.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jimmie Sherrill Mashburn; three daughters, Elaine Mashburn, Eva Jane Dills and husband Mike and Sherril Bishop and husband Bobby all of Franklin, NC; one son, Rick Mashburn of Franklin, NC; three sisters, Edna Burnette of Asheville, NC, Susie Shires of West Virginia and Betty Moffitt of Asheville, NC; four brothers, Jack Mashburn, Johnny Mashburn, and Wayne Mashburn all of Franklin, NC and Gene Mashburn of Dothan, AL; six grandchildren, Justin Dills, Nicholas Mashburn, Clinton Mashburn, Cody Dills, Breanna Bishop and Kaitlin Bishop; two great grandchildren, Adrian Mashburn and Kiley Mashburn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Morrison and a brother, Joe Mashburn.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 31st at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. Burial will be at Patton United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Mashburn, Mitchell Mashburn, Kenny Mashburn, Justin Dills, Cody Dills, Clinton Mashburn, and Keith Lewis.
