Richard Wertzler

Highlands, NC - Richard Wertzler, age 98, of Highlands, NC passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at a Highlands Cashiers Hospital.

He was born in DuPage Co., IL, the son of the late Lambert John and Mary Elizabeth Rahm Wertzler. He was married 66 years to Dorothy Eleanor Guynn Wertzler who passed away in 2003. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp. serving during WWII and was a chemist for Sinclair Oil Company. He graduated from the University of Chicago and was a member of the Rotary Club and the Mirror Lake Association. He is survived by one son, Robert Wertzler of Highlands. Four nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
