Franklin, NC - Robert E. Jamison of Otto, NC passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014 at the age of 95. He is survived by his second wife Barbara, his son Robert E. Jamison, II, of Asheville, and two granddaughters Elizabeth and Margaret. Mr. Jamison was a native of Elida, Ohio. He served in the Signal Corps of the US Army during WWII. He met and married his first wife Lucie Mae Boyd in Florida during the war. After the war he earned a bachelors degree from Florida Southern College and a masters degree from University of Florida. He taught wood shop and mechanical drawing in Winter Haven, Florida for 30 years. Upon retirement he moved to Macon County in 1974 where he opened an upholstery business. He was an avid square dancer and was active in the Otto Community, the Masons, and St. Agnes Episcopal Church where he was an active member and a junior warden.
Memorial services will be held Friday, October 31 at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Episcopal Church with Rev. Dorie Pratt officiating.
The VFW Post #7339 and American Legion Post #108 will conduct full military rites.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Agnes Episcopal Church, 84 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
Bryant Grant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
