Robert Max Ledbetter

Robert Max Ledbetter, 54, of Franklin passed away on Monday November 21, 2016.  Born in Macon County, he was the son of Max Ledbetter and the late Audrey Gibson Ledbetter.

He was a 1980 graduate of Franklin High School where he played football, baseball and basketball. He was a NASCAR fan; a NFL fan and he was a Raiders fan until Carolina came along. He attended Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to his father, survivors include a brother, Stephen Ledbetter (Diana "Tater") of Franklin; a niece, Sara Elizabeth (SaraBeth) Ledbetter; uncles, Dolan Bates, Buck Ledbetter (Margaret), Dan Gibson (Edna Earl), Larry Ledbetter (Francis); aunts, Geneva Stanfield (Mac), Margie Gibson, Kathy Hurst (Andy) and several cousins.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his grandparents, J. D. and Kate Gibson and Lawrence and Pearl Ledbetter; an aunt, Mavis Bates; uncles, L. T. Gibson and Robbie Gibson and cousins, Doug Brookshire, Grant Gibson, and Larry "Bud" Ledbetter, Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. David Crunkleton officiating. Burial will follow in Carson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Stanfield, Greg Conner, George Roper, Bruce Tallent, Duke Buchanan, Ricky Tallent and Chris Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be Ross Shields, Dean Buchanan, David Brookshire, Dale Brookshire, Michael Gibson, Jay Gibson, Kent Gibson, Jerry Roper, Lee Gibson, Matthew Gibson and Richie Gibson. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:30 til 1:00 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
