Ronald (Ron) Elliott

Franklin, NC - Ronald (Ron) Elliott, retired Army First Sergeant, passed away on December 28, 2011. His is survived by a godson, John Davis. Ron and his wife, Betty, resided in Franklin, NC. Ron was a veteran of the Korean War and the Viet Nam War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts for wounds received in action, two Combat Infantry Badges, the Army Commendation Medal, and numerous other awards.

Ron was a member of the Cowee Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Macon County VFW Post #7339. After his Army retirement, Ron and Betty were Community Association Managers for a number of years and after retiring again he went into security work until he retired again in 2009.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 4:00 pm at Cowee Baptist Church with Rev. David Powell officiating. Franklin VFW Post #7339 and American Legion Post #108 will perform military rites. Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, Macon County Unit- Relay for Life, PO Box 1648, Franklin, NC 28744.
