Rosetta Watts Reid

Highlands, N.C. - Rosetta Watts Reid, 93, went to be with the Lord Friday, June 13, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center following a brief illness.

She was born to William and Josephine Watts on March 10, 1921 in Transylvania County, NC. She was a resident of Franklin, NC for most of her life and spent her final years near her family in Archdale, NC. She was a member of Cullasaja Assembly of God in Franklin, NC. She loved her church as well as gardening and cooking for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hebert Reid on March 7, 1995. She was a sole survivor of 3 sisters and 6 brothers.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margie & Carroll Hendrix of Archdale, NC; son and daughter-in-law Walter & Ellie Reid of Hermiston, Oregon; son and daughter-in-law Glenn & Tammy Reid of North Myrtle Beach, SC; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild. Rosetta was proud of her five generations and they were proud of her. She raised a strong and loving family.

A service to celebrate the life of Rosetta Watts Reid will be held at 11 am Tuesday, June 17 at Cullasaja Assembly of God with Rev. Larry Bolick and Rev. Forrest Jones officiating the service. Interment will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 16 from 6-8 pm at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home in Franklin, NC.
