Ruby Baldwin Cansler

Franklin, NC - Ruby Baldwin Cansler, age 88 of Franklin, NC, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late W. E. "Gene" and Geneva Parrish Baldwin. She was married to William V. "Bill" Cansler for 66 years.

Mrs. Cansler was a 1943 graduate of Franklin High School and co owner of Jack and Jill Children's Shop for 34 years. She was a loving wife and dedicated mother and nana who liked to grow red roses, gardening, cooking and canning. She was an active member of First Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Jane C. Kimsey of Franklin, NC; Robert E. "Bob" Cansler and wife Loretta of Concord, NC and Dan Cansler of Sylva, NC; two sisters, Lolita B. West and Nora Jean Kinsland and husband Bo all of Franklin, NC and one brother, Ralph Baldwin of Franklin, NC. Four grandchildren, Rebecca C. Hunter and husband Robbie of Concord, NC, Sarah K. Shearl and husband Allan of Franklin, NC, Reece W. Kimsey of Charleston, SC and Danielle Cansler of Sylva, NC; two great grandchildren, Cameron V. Shearl and Mason T. Hunter and several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant son, Freddie Cansler; infant brother, Bruce Baldwin and brother, Gus Baldwin.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13, 2012 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Brown, Rev. Jim Dusek and Rev. Harold Ball officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Bradley, Mark West, Mike Kinsland, Greg Kinsland, David Kinsland and John Cansler.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Bryant Grant Funeral Home where the body will remain until being placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
