Ruby Gertrude Woodring

Ruby G. Woodring, age 104, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016.  She was born February 29, 1912 in Macon County, the daughter of the late Melvin Alvin Houston and Lillie Belle Ballew Houston.  She was married to Carey Woodring, who died in 1982.  She was a homemaker and a member of Tuckasegee Baptist Church.

She is survived by one niece, Barbara Smeltz of Australia, great‑nephews, Ronald Smeltz and Ryan Smeltz both of Richmond, VA, Bryan Smeltz of New Market, NH and Robert Smeltz of Alliance, OH, a brother, Kelly Houston of Marietta, GA.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Tuckasegee Baptist Church Cemetery on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
