Ruth M. Ashe

Franklin, NC - Ruth M. Ashe, 62, of Franklin, NC passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of Evelyn Brendle Mashburn of Franklin and the late Charlie F. Mashburn.

She was a homemaker, loving wife and daughter and enjoyed growing flowers and shopping. She was a member of Wells Grove Baptist Church and an honorary member of East Franklin Baptist Church.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 34 years, Dennis K. Ashe; two sisters, Sandra Mitchell and husband Gene of Franklin, NC and Cheryl Brendell and husband Owen of Hendersonville, NC; two brothers William Mashburn and wife Shirley and Alan Mashburn all of Franklin, NC; father in law, Logan Ashe and sister in law, Linda Ashe both of Franklin, NC and two nieces, Stephanie McCray and Angela Mashburn. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Mashburn.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Alton Dendy and Rev. Scott Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Ashe, Lewis Ashe, Jim Wiggins, Kenneth Mashburn, Gene Mitchell and Doug Brendle.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 - 2:00 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
