Ruth Hooper

Ruth Hooper, 82, of Franklin, NC, went to Heaven to be with Jesus and her family and friends. Ruth was born April 24, 1941, in Graham County, North Carolina to the late Fred and Hester Gibson Hooper.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Irene Carter, Margie Gibson, Romanell Mashburn, and Olene Sanders. Three brothers, Lloyd Hooper, Fred Jr. Hooper, and Laughty Hooper. She is survived by a sister, Willa Faye Pendergrass, of Nantahala, NC and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth loved going to church. She was a member of Mashburn Branch Baptist Church. She loved going to the Senior Center adult Day Care, she called it "School". She also enjoyed being outside for walks, helping work with wood, and feeding her cats. She loved making gifts for her family while knitting.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Cloer officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wells Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
