Sarah Ethel Talley Davis

Otto, NC - Sarah Ethel Talley Davis, age 95 of Otto, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 in a local hospital. She was born in Transylvania County, August 18, 1918, the daughter of the late Marcus Leonard and Charlotte Lydia Keener Talley. Mrs. Davis was first married to Theodore Crunkleton who died in 1976 and second to Charles Holt Davis for 15 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Newman Chapel Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and friend and enjoyed feeding and watching birds.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sisters, Eva Marshall of Mt. Kisco, NY, Berta Lee Durci of Mtn. Home, AK and Beatrice Ruhl of Newbern, NC; two brothers, Charles Talley of State Rd., NC and Clifford Talley of Highlands, NC; loving niece and caregiver, Sherry Reese of Franklin, NC and nineteen additional nieces and nephews; three step daughters, Mary Owens of Greenville, SC, Nan Strickland of Pell City, AL and Jackie Reinheimer of Charleston, SC.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Reese and two brothers, Gordon and Lewis Talley.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 18th at Newman Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Lindsay and Rev. Alton Dendy officiating. Burial will be in Highlands Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
