Savita Anil (Dalaya) Dholakia

Savita A. Dholakia, 80, of Franklin, NC, passed away on June 20, 2018 at Angel Medical hospital.

She was born in Karachi India and her family moved to Mumbai, India in 1947.  While attending college in India on an athletic scholarship & majoring in business, she met & married her husband Anil B. Dholakia.  They moved to NYC in the mid 60’s. Together they started a family business; where they sold gemstones & jewelry.  She enjoyed travelling with her husband and children to Gem tradeshows all over the United States and overseas. She worked with the family business in the Fifth avenue office in NYC for 30 years.  They later moved to Franklin, NC in the early 90’s and started the Anil B. Dholakia, Inc. business.  A wholesale jewelry & gemstone business located on Highlands road.

She was very loving, family oriented, and she loved her husband, her children, grandchildren, family & friends deeply. She had a bubbly personality & and a lightning smile that could light up a room.  She will be terribly missed by all that knew her.

She was the daughter of the late Gulab & Rukmani Dalaya.  She is survived by her loving husband Anil B. Dholakia of 62 years; Daughter, Varshana Dholakia‑McGaughey(Earl McGaughey) of Franklin, NC; Sons, Ketan Dholakia of WPB, FL and Samrat Dholakia (Donna) of Melville, NY; Grandchildren, Shawn Dholakia of Atlanta, GA, Raja Dholakia of WPB, FL, Andrew, Isabel & Caroline Dholakia of Melville, NY; Brother, Deepak Dalaya (Sushila) of Mumbai, India; Sister in law, Pramila Sullivan of Guam; & nieces & nephews, Ujjwala, Raju, Saroj, Ashish Dalaya; & William Sullivan.

A private service was held on June 21st for the Family followed by cremation at the Bryant Grant home.
