Steve Gordon Hensley

Steve Gordon Hensley, 74, of Franklin, NC, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025. He was born January 25, 1951 in Jackson County, NC to the late Gordon C. Hensley and Evelyn Lucille Massey Hensley. 

Mr. Hensley was married for 56 years to Roberta Mason Hensley who died June 18, 2024. He worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator. Steve drove a dump truck and worked on roads and help pave roads all around Western North Carolina.

Mr. Hensley was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, where he was a teacher and level priesthood. Steve was a hard worker, he loved his family and always took care of them.

He is survived by a daughter, Athena Hensley Cobb of Franklin, NC; two grandchildren, Pandora Fling and Anthony Mosley VI; three great-grandchildren, Dominic McGuire, Malachy Fling and Lochland Fling; two brothers, C. L. Hensley and Ronnie Hensley. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Hensley, siblings, March Hensley, Roger Hensley, Brenda McConnell and Ray Hensley.
