Steve Howard Miller, age 71, of Franklin, NC passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022.
Born on July 4, 1950, in Macon County, he is the son of the late Dover and Frankie (Tallent) Miller. Steve’s early passion in life was baseball. He played for the first Franklin Panthers baseball team. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he also joined the All-Navy baseball team.
While in the US Navy, Steve was an Aviation Structural Mechanic. After his honorable discharge and return home, he continued to work with his hands becoming a welder and construction worker. He loved hunting, being outdoors in nature, and spending time with his family and pets. Steve was a devoted husband and father, and he loved his family fiercely.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded by three sisters: Lucile, Dorothy, and Janice.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Miller; two daughters, Stephanie Williams and Heather Miller; and son-in-law Joel McCoy; three grandchildren; six sisters, Linda Garner, Connie Curtis, Judy Pickens, Betty Ramey, Susie Owen, and Gail Tallent.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to an animal shelter or humane society of your choosing.
