Steven Willis Vinson

Otto, NC - Steven Willis Vinson, age 85, of Otto, NC passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at a local nursing home. Born in Sheridan Co., WY, he was the son of the late James A. and Ethel Runyion Vinson. He was first married to the Blanche Ramey Vinson who passed away in 1996 and second to Maxine Teaque Vinson who passed away in 2006. He was a member of Tessentee Church of God. He liked racing and was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his daughter, Aleta Baker and her husband Raymond of Otto, NC; sons, Allen Vinson and his wife Sandy and Archie Vinson all of Clayton, GA and Avery Vinson and his wife Karen of Liberty, KY; brothers, Atlas Vinson of Jasper, GA and Phillip Vinson of Canton, OH. Eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Alvin Vinson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 12 at 2:00 PM at House of Hope (Tessentee) Church of God with Rev. Robert Dryman and Rev Greg Bartram officiating. Burial will be in the Lower Tessentee Church of God Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday evening August 11 from 6:00 8:00pm at Bryant Grant Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes prior to service.
