Sue Iris Genter

Mrs. Sue Iris Genter, 88, of Franklin, NC went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, September 22, 2026. Born April 4, 1938 in Lake Odessa, Michigan to the late Loyd Aemisegger and Sylvia Peabody Aemisegger.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Clyde Genter. Sue and Clyde met in a church choir in 1953, beginning a life together filled with love and music. She attended Franklin Presbyterian Church, Sue sang soprano while Clyde sang tenor. Those who heard her sing often said she had the voice of an angel. Just days before her passing she sang “Amazing Grace” for Clyde.

Voted homecoming queen by her high school classmates in 1955, Sue carried a warmth that stayed with her throughout her life. She was a talented stained glass artist who also enjoyed making jewelry. She loved animals and was always ready to help someone in need. Sue will be remembered for her beautiful voice, her creativity, and the kindness she shared so freely.
