Tamara Stoops Duggan

On March 25, 2013 the world got a little darker with the passing of Tami Duggan formerly of Franklin. She died suddenly of a heart attack at age 31.

She was born in Rochester, MI October 4th 1981 to Jack Stoops and Lori Stoops-Young. Tami touched everyone she met in a special way. Count yourself blessed if you knew her. She was truly a shining light. She grew up in Vero Beach FL, but spent a lot of time in Franklin with her “Nanny” and also considered it home. She lived life to the fullest and encouraged everyone she met to do the same.

She attended Mars Hill College for a while and then transferred to Florida State University and earned a degree in Social Work. She worked for the Dept. of Children and Families in Tallahassee, FL. She then returned to the mountains she loved, and worked at Youth Villages in Knoxville, Tenn. In 2010 she received a job in London England at the London Borough of Haringey. While there, She met the love of her life, Ian Duggan. They were married in Jan 2012 and moved to Ian’s homeland of Ireland. They were back in the states on vacation when we lost our dear Tami, Our loss is truly Heaven’s gain.

She is survived by her husband, Ian Duggan, Father Jack Stoops of Bismark ND, Mother Lori Young, Vero Beach FL. Brother Zachariah Stoops of Texas, Jarred and Noah Stoops of Michigan. Sister Elizabeth, Vero Beach. Grandmother Carlene Majszak, Franklin. Grandfather, William Ballard of Vero Beach, Step Father Bruce Young, Vero Beach and Father and Mother in Law Pat & Ellen Duggan of Cork Ireland along with numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Also surviving are the countless friends in the U.S., England and Ireland

Memorial service will be at Rose Creek Baptist Church, of which she was a member, on April 2nd at 2:00pm with Rev. Roy Lindsay, Rev. Morris Tippett and Rev. Ben Cabe officiating. Interment will be held at Moore-Welch Cemetery alongside her Grand pa-pa.
