Thomas Gerald McCall, 75, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016.
Gerald was born April 3, 1941 in Macon County to the late Samuel and Bessie Sorrells McCall. He was married to the late June Ellen McCall who preceded him in 2014. He was an iron worker for 50 years. He owned and operated Mac’s Welding and Fabrication in Newberry, Fl. before returning to Franklin. Gerald was also a Master Mason and Shriner.
Survivors include three daughters, Tamara Louise Hadley (Marc) of Tampa, Fl., Judith Lynn Sneed and Tabatha Goodman both of Franklin, NC; one son, Thomas Gerald Bergschwenger of Ferndale Michigan; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Hedrick and Faye Marlin (Ted) both of Franklin; two brothers, William C. McCall (Louise) of Jonesboro, GA., and Charles Robert McCall of Lake Orin Michigan; and a cousin Lonella McCall Bates of Franklin.
Gerald was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two sons, Christopher Eugene Green and Scott Allen Perkins; and three brothers, Kenneth R. McCall, Shirley J. McCall, and Ludrick Eugene McCall.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 1, 2016 in the chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Radford Penland officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home and Crematory.
