Franklin, NC - Tommy Norman, age 78 of Old Murphy Road, Franklin, NC passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010 in a local hospital. Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late David A. and Mary Etta Crawford Norman. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He had worked at Burlington Industries for several years and was retired from Dayco. He was a member of Macon County Coon Hunters Club. He was a member of West Franklin Church where he was a Deacon, Trustee and Choir Leader.
He is survived by one daughter Vicki Norman of Sylva, NC; two sons Doug Norman of Franklin, NC and Mike Norman and Brenda of Pigeon Forge, TN; one sister Betty Sutton of Hendersonville, NC. Seven grandchildren and two great-granchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Clifford Patterson officiating. Burial will be in the Norman Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2010, one hour prior to the service at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
