Tommy Shelley

James Thomas "Tommy"  Shelley, age 70, of Sylva, NC, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017.  He was the son of the late Harvey and Lucille Rabon Shelley.   He was of the Baptist faith.   He loved the Lord, the bus ministry, family, friends, and most of all he loved his three grandchildren.

Mr. Shelley is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ethel Peek Shelley,  daughter, Dale Ann Skinner and her husband Buddy of Summerville, SC; son, David Joseph Shelley and his wife Carol of Hanahan, SC; grandchildren, Danielle Pope and Tommy Pope both of Summerville, SC and Rachel Shelley of Hanahan, SC; sister, Nadine Hyman of Conway, SC; brothers, Jackie Shelley (Betty) and Martin Shelley (Patty) all of Conway, SC.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Shelley.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home, with Rev. Ernie Jamison and Rev. Steve Webb officiating.  A military graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm Wednesday at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Sylva.  The family will receive from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday evening at Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home and Crematory.
