Valeria "Granny" Evelyn Clouse

Franklin, NC - Valeria "Granny" Evelyn Clouse, age 95, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012. Born in Gaston County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William David and Bessie Lenora Arrowood Davis. She was married to Guy E. Clouse who died in 1963. She retired from Belden Electric Cord and was a member of Watauga Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Bible Training Union Teacher, Choir Member and Bible School Principal. She was a loving Christian mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and she loved to quilt.

Mrs. Clouse is survived by three daughters, Glenda Potts and husband Harley and Coleen Ledford and husband Troy all of Franklin, NC and Donnette Carnes and husband Jim of Sylva, NC; four sons, Robert Eugene Clouse and wife Jean of Bessemer City, NC, Milbern Dale Clouse and wife Eva Nell, Delbert Haven Clouse and wife Pat and Donnie Clouse and wife Angel, all of Franklin, NC; one sister, Gladys England and husband Ray of Gastonia, NC; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Clouse.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Watauga Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Lowe, Rev. Wesley Price and Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Keith and Kevin Potts, Michael Ledford, Barry Carnes, Brian Carnes, Dale Clouse, Guy Clouse, Ben Barnes, Daniel Ford, Loyd Mashburn and Derrick Hurst. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Watauga Cemetery Fund, c/o Norris Clouse, 2864 Watauga Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
