Velma Cook Abel

Franklin, NC-

Velma Cook Abel, 93, passed away Monday, October 24, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Abel was born May 27, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Val and Clara S. Cook. She was married to the late W. Roy Abel who preceded her.

Mrs. Velma was an avid crafter and was a crafter for Maco Crafter where she also served on the board of directors. She also had a great love for all animals especially horses, dogs and cats.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy Abel of Franklin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Carol Abel of Flager Beach, FL; a sister-in-law, Grace Cook of West Chester, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Abel was preceded in death by a son, Robert R. Abel; and a brother, Val Cook, Jr.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Care Partners Hospice for their care to Mrs. Abel during her illness.
