Velma Roseann Wooten Estes

Franklin, NC - Velma Roseann Wooten Estes, age 96, of Franklin, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014. She was born in Macon County, the daughter of the late Charlie Monroe Wooten and Mary Mageline Gibson Wooten. She was married to James Lee Estes, who died in 1986. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She like to quilt, embroider and most of all reading her Bible. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Wallace and her husband Jerry and Carolyn Clouse and her husband Jim all of Franklin, NC; a son, Eugene Estes of Franklin, NC; a sister, Irene Hampton of Franklin, NC; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Carrie Heaton, Mary Bell Angel, Oma Downs, and Leona McCarson, and three brothers, Lloyd, Roy and Tom Wooten.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 1st at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Tanner Higdon, Justin Wright, Avery Breedlove, Joey Clouse, Trevor Rogers, and Owen Brooks. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
