Verna "Tee" Caroline (Buchanan) Henry

Verna "Tee" Buchanan Henry, 91, of Franklin, NC, passed away April 2, 2024.  She was born April 2, 1933, in Macon County, NC to the late Oscar and Edna Picklesimer Buchanan.

Mrs. Henry had retired from the Macon County School System as a teacher assistant.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She liked working in the yard and growing flowers.  Mrs. Henry was a member of Dryman's Chapel Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and Communion Steward.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James Robert "Bob" Henry, a daughter, Teresa Henry Shuler (David) of Nolensville, TN; and a son, Jimmy Henry of Waynesville, NC; and a granddaughter, Heather Shuler Reed (Tom).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven sisters, Bea Bell, Margie Cabe, Myrtle Campbell, Annie Dykes, Ruby Justice, Hazel Rogers and Virgie Buchanan and three brothers, Kenneth Buchanan, Neville Buchanan, and James Buchanan.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Dryman's Chapel Church at 2:30 PM with Rev. Don Moffitt and Rev. Terry Moffitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Wright Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 till 8:00 PM Friday, April 5, 2024, at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.  Pallbearers will be Harold Justice, Claude Campbell, Bill Dykes, Jerry Rogers, Mike Bell, Russ Ashburn, and Neil Buchanan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Calvin Rogers, Randall Rogers, Terry Bell, Mike Buchanan, and Gary Buchanan.
