Virginia "Kimbo" Cleaveland Bryson

Highlands, NC - Virginia "Kimbo" Cleaveland Bryson, age 70, of Highlands, NC, passed away April 15, 2015 at Highlands Cashiers Hospital. She was a native Highlander, where she lived her entire life. She was the daughter of the late George and Louise Beale Cleaveland.

She was employed by the Town of Highlands for twenty four years and retired in 1995. Most recently she was a resident of the Fidelia Eckerd Living Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by three children and seven grandchildren. Jerry Nix (Gwen) of Charlotte, NC; Lanette Walsh (David) of Advance, NC; Clay Bryson of Cashiers, NC; one sister, Georgia Sanders of Highlands; grandchildren, Adam, Daniel and Sarah Nix, Bailey and Conner Walsh, Derick and Devin Bryson; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 18th at 11:00 am at Highlands United Methodist Church, with Rev. Paul Christy and Jennifer Forrester officiating. Burial will be in Highlands Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Beale, Herb James, James Oberry, Adam Nix, Daniel Nix and Bud Lamb. The family will receive friends from 10:00 till 11:00 am Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the Church.
