Walter Carl Wright

Walter Carl Wright, 56, of Franklin, NC passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016.  He was born in Macon County, the son of the late Ernie and Gladys Hannah Wright.  He was a superintendent for Harrison Construction.

Mr. Wright was a 1977 graduate of Franklin High School; was captain of the 1976 Football State Championship Team and was recently inducted into the Franklin High School Football Hall of Fame. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was a member of Patton United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lynn Corbin Wright; one son, Justin Zeke Wright of Franklin; four sisters, Gloria Thun (Charles), Sue Ellen Chastain (Rodney) and Donna Hefner (Conrad) all of Franklin and Brenda Perteet (Kirk) of Tiger, GA and one grandson, Brayln Zeke Wright.

A funeral service will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Patton United Methodist Church with Rev. Ricky Connor officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Southard, Neil Finch, Daniel Gibbs, Rance Perteet, Ken Bennett, Jeff Mathis, Joey Clouse and Dennis Ray.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 ‑ 8:00 pm at Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society (Colon), 120 Executive Park Building One, Asheville, NC  28801.
