Wanda Y. Gibson

Wanda Y. Gibson, 59, of Shelby, NC passed away Tuesday, March 07, 2017. Born in Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late James Howard Gibson and Delphia Ramey Gibson.

With the heart and soul of child, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten.

Survivors include two sisters, Shelia Coggins (John) of Mills Springs, NC and Jackie Gibson of Oregon and a brother, Dusty Gibson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Perez and a brother, Jim Kinsland.

A graveside service will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Jennings Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 – 1:30 pm prior to the service at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms from too many people to name individually, but including: Alan Ancillotti, April and team at Forest City Family Care, family and friends-either through prayer and/or visits, neighbors, and even random acts of kindness through total “strangers”.
