Franklin, NC - Wanda Kay Ledford Taylor, 66, of Franklin, NC passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Rose Garrett Ledford. She was a waitress for Huddle House for 25 years. She was a loving mother; a superb grandmother and was affectionately known as "The Mouth of the South". She was a member of Windy Gap Baptist Church.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by five daughters, Stephanie Deweese and husband Randy of Six Mile, SC, Melissa Parker and husband Philip of Asheville, NC, Candy Taylor, MacKenzie Taylor and Darlene Sizemore and husband John all of Franklin, NC; two sisters, Glenda Ordway of Lincolnton, GA and Nancy Hicks of Franklin, NC; five grandchildren, Joel and Matthew Deweese, Brandon and Andee Parker and Paxton Taylor; honorary son, Christopher Hicks of Franklin, NC; a special friend, Bennie Reeves and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Boyd Ledford and a granddaughter, Sarah Amber Deweese.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 15th at 5:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. John Rogers and Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, February 15 from 4:00 5:00PM, one hour prior to service at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.
