Wanda Ray Shepherd

Franklin, NC - Wanda Ray Shepherd, 66, of Franklin, NC passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Burl Ray and Lucille Pendergrass Ray of Franklin. Mrs. Shepherd was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she loved spending time with her grandkids and family and being outdoors. She attended Mt. Sinai Assembly of God Church.

In addition to her mother she is survived by two sons, Larry Shepherd and wife Gayla of Hayesville and Rickie Shepherd of Franklin; six sisters, Elaine Holland, Ila Giles, Deborah Holland, Ann Holland, Tammy Collier and Rita McCoy all of Franklin; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Mason, and Madison Shepherd and Adam Prather and one great grandchild, Cayden Prather.
In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a brother Bill Ray.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 4, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Sinai Assembly of God Church with Rev. Bryon Lamb, Rev. Jared Benedict and Rev. Johnny Raby officiating. Burial will be in Roper Cemetery; nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 8:00 pm at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.
