Wilbur Jackson Ray

Franklin, NC -Wilbur Jackson Ray, 73, of Franklin, NC passed away Friday June 3, 2011 at his residence. A native of Macon Co. he was the son of the late Frank and Onie Vanhook Ray. He was a mechanic for Whitley Industries, and a member of Wells Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Teresa Ray Downs and husband Johnny of Franklin, NC; a son, Tony Ray and wife Rhonda of Franklin, NC.; one sister Mary Ray Hedden and husband Wiley of Franklin, NC, and one brother in-law Logan Ashe of Franklin, NC; four grandchildren, Mandy Wishon, Sandy Tabor, Zachary Ray and Tanner Ray; three great grandchildren, Sydney Williams, Jackson Wilson and Eli Wishon. He was preceded in death by one sister Ruth Ray Ashe and brothers Rufus and Don Ray.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Dixon officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Zach Ray, Dennis Ashe, Scott Anthony, Wiley Hedden, Tanner Ray and Dennis Downs. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, June 6, 2011 at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
