Wiley Rogers Cabe

Ackworth GA - Wiley Rogers Cabe, age 84, resident of Acworth GA, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Wiley was born February 4, 1929 and raised on a farm near Franklin NC. He joined the US Air Force in 1948, served time in Germany during the Korean War & Berlin Airlift, and was discharge in 1952. He returned home to continue his education, marry, start a family, and enjoy a career at the Lockheed GA (now Lockheed-Martin) plant for 32 years.

Wiley is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Mayes Davis Cabe; son Gary Davis (Jane) and grandson Jarrett of Marietta GA; son Robin Cabe (Peggy) of Canton GA, granddaughter Nicol Cabe of Seattle, WA, grandson J. Collin Solonka of Woodstock GA; daughter-in-law Annette Davis of Wheaton MD and grandson Joel Whitlow "Whit" Davis (Leah) of Columbia MD; grandson Nathaniel Cabe and great-granddaughter Kendall of Crawfordville FL; daughter-in-law Analyn Cabe, and granddaughters Mary Josephina and Abigail Lesley of Blue Springs MO. In addition, he is survived by three brothers, Ernest W. "Buster" Cabe of Franklin NC, Clyde Cabe of Sylva NC and Howard Cabe of Pensacola FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest W. and Margaret Mae Cabe; his first wife of 20 years, Eunice McCoy Cabe; sons Joel L. Davis Jr. and Leslie W. Cabe; three brothers, Henry Cabe, Ralph Cabe and Leon Cabe and four sisters, Annie D. Cabe, Edna Cabe, Lora Alice Thompson and Mabel Potts.

The first Memorial Service for Wiley will be held on Sunday, December 22nd at 2:00 pm, at the Acworth United Methodist Church.

A second memorial service will be held in Franklin, NC at the Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, Saturday, January 4th at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Franklin NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either the Acworth United Methodist Church or Gentiva Hospice Foundation of Atlanta.
