Willard Deweese

Willard Deweese 90, a lifelong resident of Franklin, NC went home to be with the Lord on December 23, 2022. He was born January 26, 1932, to the late Wymer Deweese and Mae Willis. Willard was a veteran, retired carpenter, and cabinet builder. He loved hunting, fishing, ginseng hunting, and gardening. Our family and friends have lost a wealth of knowledge of mountain heritage and the ways of life.

Willard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruby Nell Deweese; two daughters, Kathy Murphy Nix (Robert) of Six Mile, SC and Becky McGaha of Franklin, NC; a son, Randy Deweese (Stephanie) of Six Mile, SC; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Willard is preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Hodgins, his granddaughter, Sarah Deweese and a great grandson River Bowling.

A funeral service will be 2:00pm Saturday December 31, 2022, at the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Burningtown Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00p-8:00p Friday December 30, 2022, at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.
