Mr. William "Bill" Fisher Van Marter III, 74, of Franklin, NC, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025. Mr. Van Marter was born August 18, 1951, in Ringoes, NJ to the late William Fisher Van Marter II and Josephine Ann Tymczyszyn Van Marter.
Bill was born on a dairy farm where he would work until he finished high school. He later moved to Florida, where he would learn the bartending business and write a book on the profession. He also worked in the trucking business for Alterman Trucking and ran Lawn Barber Landscaping Company with his wife, Vicki. In addition to fishing, Bill loved to travel and enjoyed showing Vicki and his family things they had never seen. Bill also liked NASCAR and drag racing (NHRA) and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He was always positive and had a positive word to share. In August of 2024, Bill accepted Jesus as his Lord and savior. He loved his grandchildren and family.
Bill is survived by his wife of 15 years, Vicki, his daughters, Tracy (Elijah) Smith, Michelle (Tony) Welsh, Tamra (Chris) Littles, Tiffani Tallent (Adam), and Tanyr Thomason(James); his sons, Adam Tallent and Thomas Giesy II; 14 grandchildren, Brylee Thomason, Ellee Thomason, Cray Tallent, Palmer Tallent, Maverick Thomason, Renley Thomason, Shuttera Jones, Aulex Reeves, Thomas Giesy, Jr., Cas Welsh, Nikole Welsh, Audrey Littles, Telia Giesy, and Aria Littles; two great-grandchildren, Ryland Walker and Anthony Galasso; and his sister, Jane (Bud) Belonsoff.
A Celebration of Life will be held 4:00 PM, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Moore-Welch Cemetery in Franklin, NC with Rev. Jason Smith, and Mr. Adam Tallent officiating.
