William Joseph England

William “Bill” Joseph England, Lt. Col Us Army retired, 85 of Scaly Mountain, NC went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Mr. England was preceded in death by a son, Alan B. England. He is survived by his wife, Josephine England of Scaly Mountain and a son John England of Seattle Washington.

After retiring from the Military Police, Bill formed a career as an instructor of carpentry and cabinet making in Tallahassee, Fl. He then moved to North Carolina 32 years ago and worked in construction.

Bill was a past president of the Scaly Mountain Community Association and a past Volunteer Fireman with the Sky Valley and Scaly Mountain Fire Department.

A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the Scaly Mountain Church of God. The family will greet friends following the service.
