William Lee Young

Mr. William Lee Young, 73, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at his residence. William was born in Jackson, County October 25, 1947 to the late John William Young, Jr. and Dorothy Green Young. He worked and retired as a carpenter in commercial construction. He loved hunting, fishing, football games and NASCAR. He was also of the Baptist faith. William was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Rogers Young of the home; two sons, Greg Young (Elizabeth Johnston) and Eric Young (Jill Arnold) both of Franklin, NC; a brother, Stanley Young of Asheville, NC; three sisters, Hilda Young of Franklin, Loretta Young of Franklin, and Tena Hicks of Waldo, FL; and his little dog "Bentley".

In addition to his parents William was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Young.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 24, 2021 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Stillwell and Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church.
