Wynoma Payne Shope

Otto, NC - Wynoma Payne Shope, age 81, passed away Monday, November 14, 2011. Born in Macon Co., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lillie Passmore Payne. She was married to the late Joseph P. Shope who died in 1995. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church; she was a loving mother and grandmother and loved to raise a garden.

She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Elizabeth Shope Johnson of Otto, NC; one brother, Thomas Edward Payne of Knoxville, NC and two grandchildren, Heather and Sarah Johnson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Oma Mae Emory and two brothers, Granville Payne and Eugene Patton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home. Rev. Duane Corle will officiate. Burial will be in Rush Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, November 18 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
