Babs Jeanette (Lewis) Neely

Mrs. Babs Jeanette Lewis Neely, 88, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019.  Mrs. Neely was a native of Macon County, she was born November 30, 1930 to the late Oscar William Lewis and Vashti Kiser Lewis. She was a homemaker and a mother of four children. She was a 4-H leader, substitute teacher, Women’s Missionary Union Director and worked as a register for local voting precincts.  Babs loved gardening, working in her flowers, and watching dogwood trees.  She loved to sing, play the guitar, and piano. She was a member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church for many years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Pierson Neely, who died October, 2005.

She is survived by her children, Frank Timothy Neely and wife Lori, David Brooks Neely, Lynn Alice Neely all of Franklin, NC and Ava Ann Tidwell and husband Tony of Naples, FL; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Roylston, Robert Roylston, Steven Roylston, Vicki Roylston, Glori Tidwell, Nichole Gibson, Rebecca Brown and Angela Brown.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at 3:00pm. The family will greet friends following the service.
