Carolyn Jean (Houston) DeLong

Carolyn Jean Houston DeLong, 86, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024.  Carolyn was born May 10, 1937, in Rabun County, GA to the late Roy James Houston and Carrie White Houston.

She was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church where she was involved in the choir and various positions in the church. Carolyn loved helping people, making shawls, and knitting many things to give away to friends and family. 

Survivors include her husband, Harold Lee DeLong; a daughter, Kathleen Daum (Rick); a son, Mac Greene (Connie); stepdaughter, Susan DeLong; grandson, Zach Daum; a sister, Elaine Shepherd (John); two brothers, Willie Houston (Shelby) and David Houston; and a sister-in-law, Sue Houston.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Grady Greene and a brother, Wayne Houston. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Evan Hill officiating.
