Franklin, NC - Elwood B. Trueblood, Jr., age 85, of Franklin, NC passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at his residence. He was born July 8, 1926 in Pelham, NC to Elwood B. Trueblood, Sr and Bernice Lanier Trueblood. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Army Air Corps. He was Director of Security, National Airlines, Miami, Fl, sold to Pan American Airways, took early retirement in 1981. Business Manager, Ransom Everglades Prep School, Coconut Grove, FL. He had a Associate of Arts Degree-College of William & Mary; Bachelor of Business Administration-University of Miami; Master of Science in Human Resources- Nova University. He was a avid jazz lover; jazz guitarist, NYC; member of the Miami Jazz Society. He was the North American Secretary, International Association of Airline Security Officer; a member of the Private Security Advisory Council, U.S. Dept. of Justice; U.S. Army Intelligence School-Industrial Security Management; Special Officer, State of Florida, Governor’s Commission; Professional Member of American Society for Industrial Security; NASA, Security Training-west of the Mississippi-Top Secret Clearance; Atomic Energy Commission-Security Training, Installation and Inspection-’Q’ Clearance.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Jean Veldhuis Trueblood of Franklin, NC; his son, Elwood B.Trueblood, III, (Joana) of Lake Mary, FL, his daughter, Diane M. Colton (Rick) of Sarasota, FL; step-sons, Eric A. Koch (Patti) of Franklin, NC and Blake A. Koch (Rachele) of Pembroke Pines, FL; granddaughter, Christy Ashley (Jim) of Casselberry, FL; grandson, John Michael Trueblood of San Diego, CA; great-grandchildren, Chelsea & Andrew Honeycutt of Casselberry, Fl; step granddaughter, Brittany (Nate) Charlier of Plymouth, MN and step-great-granddaughter, Sienna Charlier of Plymouth, MN.
