Emma Jane (Talley) Houston

Mrs. Emma Jane Talley Houston, 86, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023. Mrs. Houston was born August 23, 1937, in Highlands, NC to the late Arthur Deck Talley and Myrtle Estelle Chastain Talley. She worked and retired from the Highlands School system. She was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church. She loved her flowers and gardening.

Survivors include her three sons, Stanley Houston, Stacy Houston, and Scott Houston all of Highlands., one grandson, Christopher Houston; and two great-grandchildren, Wesley Houston and Lila Houston. a sister, Barbara Houston and a brother, Joe Talley.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Houston was preceded in death by her husband, John Willis Houston; and a son, Gordon Houston.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Clear Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Wilson officiating. Pallbearers will be Christopher Houston, Waylon Chastain, Joe Wayne Talley, Kevin Nix, Steve Houston, Adam Henry, Lamar Nix, and Terry Henry.
