F. B. Vinson Jr. passed into Glory on November 12, 2019, at his home after a prolonged illness with his children by his side. F. B. Vinson was born on January 15, 1931, in Macon County to the late Franklin Brownlow and Eva Inez Vinson. F. B. was married to the late Helena Brown Vinson for sixty years before her death on March 30, 2011.
F. B. is survived by his two daughters, Karon Anderson (Jerry), and Teresa Holbrooks (Homer) of Franklin, NC; a son, Ronnie Vinson (Sherry) of Englewood, TN; four granddaughters, April Anderson and Jennifer Anderson both of Franklin, NC, Ashley Webb (Nathan) of Cleveland, TN, and Katelyn Vinson of Brandon, FL; two great-grandchildren, Anna and Austin Webb; two step-grandchildren, April Chastain (Tracy) and Brent Holbrooks (Sarah); seven step-great-grandchildren, Trey and Tye Chastain, Hope, Jack, Knox, Saylor, and Tripp Holbrooks.
F. B. was preceded in death by his siblings, Hazel Carpenter, Veneta Wilburn, Mildred Cunningham, Eugene Vinson, and Gladys Brown.
F. B. was a member at the Cartoogechaye Church of God. He was the owner of Vinson Backhoe Service. His greatest achievement was being Poppy Vinson to all his babies. He lived his life for the Lord and for his family, he was truly loved by all his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Mr. Vinson was a U. S. Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean War.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Cartoogechaye Church of God with Rev. Phillip Cochran, Rev. Robert Dryman and Rev. Eddie Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday evening at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
