Fleur Laird Long, 92, passed away on December 16,2023 at Highlands Hospital. She was born March 16, 1931 in San Francisco, CA. The daughter of John Parry Laird, Jr and Deborah Sampson Laird.
She was a WaterColor Artist, who taught painting at the Petersburg, VA Art League, VA Museum of Fine Arts, as well as a teacher at Ghost Ranch, NM and the Bascom-Louise Gallery in Highlands, NC.
She received her Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from the College of Santa Fe, NM in 1981 at the same time her daughter graduated from the same college. She started her career as a Flight Attendant for Pan Am Airways at the early age of 21 before getting married to John A. Long. They had 4 children together.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah Loftus, and her two sons, Terry Long and Michael Long, her brother John Parry Laird, III, 6 Grandsons, 5 Great Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
There will be no formal services at this time.
