On Sunday November 28, 2021, Frank Eugene Hinton, 63, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Born in Greenville, SC on April 2, 1958, to Victor Emmanuel and Annie Mae Hinton, Frank was the youngest of four siblings. He attended JL Mann High School and was a talented football player. His love of the game led to a life-long admiration of his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide. Upon graduation from high school, Frank entered the Air Force where he became a member of the Strategic Air Command with the Military Police.
Frank had many scans, CT, MRI, and PET, to get through them he would recite The Lord's Prayer. He was a man that thought he should have lived in the previous generation than his. A time of simple car engines, telephone calls instead of texts, a time of newspapers, hold the door for a lady and family dinners on Sunday. He liked NASCAR and collected Die Cast Cars of mostly Dale Earnhardt. His favorite "go-to" music was Zac Brown Band and the song Chicken Fried. He enjoyed antique car shows and the train ride through the mountains from Bryson City which was on his bucket list. He will be missed deeply by his wife and his yellow lab Bo.
Frank leaves behind his loving wife Joyce; his children, Ashley Patrick (Steven), Blake Hinton (Elaina), Jason Schilling, Dillon Hinton (Indy) and Matthew Hinton. Frank adores his grandchildren, Kaitlin, Chase, Holly, Cooper, Greyson and Connor. His siblings, Micki Hinton Jordan (Daniel), Jan Hinton Ratcliff (Jimmy); many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Frank is preceded in death by his sister, Vicki Hinton Pressly (Bill).
The family will receive friends on Thursday December 2, 2021. A casual drop-in from 3:00pm-6:00pm at the home of his niece, 5 Breton Drive, Greer, SC 29650. Please come with your favorite memory to share of Frank.
