Andrews, NC - Hope Grant Franklin, 88, of Andrews passed away Saturday, July 26. 2014 in Andrews.
She was born October 4, 1925 in Macon County, the daughter of the late Amos and Flossie Mason Grant. She was first married to the late Edison Garey and second to the late James Franklin. She was a homemaker and a member of Valleytown Baptist Church. She was a former Sunday school teacher at Briartown Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by foster daughters, Lavancha Lambeth and Libby Bullock, four sisters, Cora Morgan, Evelyn Morgan, Paralee Douthit and Margie Robbins, four brothers, Buren Grant, Gene Grant, Clint Grant, and Noel Grant and a foster grandson, Kevin Lee Cope.
Hope is survived by two foster daughters, Cassie Barfield of Thomasville, NC and Lawanda Black of Andrews, NC; two sisters, Muriel Denny of Andrews and Della Campbell of Robbinsville; one brother, Jack Grant of Newton, NC. Eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will recieve friends 1 hr prior to the service.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 29, at 2:00 PM at Briartown Baptist Church with Rev. S.J. Waters officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be held at Briartown Baptist Church Cemetery.
