John "Jack" William Thomas, 80, of Franklin, NC, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022. He was born July 20, 1941 in Weymouth, Massachusetts, the son of the late John William and Gladys Louise Fowler Thomas. Mr. Thomas had a wonderful sense of humor and was very thorough about all decisions. He owned and operated Cooper Appliance from 1979 to 1997. He was also a handyman and could fix or build anything; he built two homes, one in Florida and one in Franklin. He attended Memorial United Methodist Church, and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was also a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Nancy Thomas; daughter, Joni Brightbill (Robin) of Sarasota, FL; son, John M. Thomas (Tanya) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Danielle Wallace, Taylor Santos, Ethan Thomas, Annalisa Thomas, Alisha Thomas and Carissa Thomas; four great-grandchildren, Luca Santos, Isaac Santos, Callum Wheeler and Noah Maxa; a sister, Lynne Harvey.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11:00 am at Memorial United Methodist Church, with Pastor Evan Hill officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
