Jerry Cecil Brown

Mr. Jerry Cecil Brown, 81, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024. Jerry was born June 8, 1942, in Macon, Co. to the late Cecil Brown and Grace Saunders Brown. He was a lifelong resident of Macon, Co.

Jerry worked as an electrician for Duke Power and retired from Oconee Nuclear Station. He also served in the U.S. Air Force as an airplane mechanic. Jerry was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and Adult Sunday School teacher. He loved reading and studying the Bible. Church was very important to Jerry. He also enjoyed gardening and working outside. Jerry was always willing to help people that needed it. 

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sue Dills Brown of Franklin; a son, Kevin Brown of Franklin; three grandchildren, Jacob Brown, Christina Brown, and Brittany Brown; and a special sister-in law, Opal Brown.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a son, Terry Brown; a sister, Mildred Tiernan; and three brothers, Roy Brown, Johnny Ray Brown, and Kenneth Brown. 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 26, 2024, in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Cloer and Rev. Frank Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow in the Dills Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Luke Brown, Bruce Dills, Keith Dills, Taylor Shirley, J.J. Cowart, and Chris Wilson.
