Jessie "Tootsie" Ruth (Stewart) Williams

Jessie Ruth "Tootsie" Stewart Williams, 94, of Arden, NC, formerly of Waynesville, NC passed away January 19, 2021.  Jessie was born December 20, 1926 in Macon County, to the late Harley and Pearl Moore Stewart.  Jessie was a graduate of Western Carolina University and had her Master's Degree from Peabody College in Nashville, TN, now known as Vanderbilt University. She taught school for twenty-five years in Macon and Haywood County.  Mrs. Williams was a member of Fletcher United Methodist Church and she loved to play bridge. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Thomas Williams; and two brothers, Harley Moore Stewart and Wayne H Stewart.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Williams of Asheville, NC and a son, Thomas Williams and his wife, Linda of Alexander, NC.

A family only graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Longview Baptist Church Cemetery.
