Joseph Harley Jenkins, age 62, of Franklin, NC, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021. Mr. Jenkins was born November 02, 1958 in Macon County to the late Harley and Ruby Houston Jenkins. He was married to the late Rebecca "Becky" Luker Jenkins. Joe was a maintenance worker on tractors, he was a member of the Macon County Horse Association and a long time member of WNC Wagon Train, he also was a blacksmith for many years.
He is survived by three sons, Paul Jenkins (Crystal), Joey Jenkins and Nathan Jenkins; six brothers, Rick Jenkins, Ray Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins, Tom Jenkins, Carlos Jenkins and Troy Jenkins; a sister, Annie Mae Cisneros ; grandchildren, Kendra Sheffey, Branson Jenkins, Aspen Applewhite and Hailey Jenkins. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Annie Mae Jenkins.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 1:00 pm in Bryant-Grant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brent Houston officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday at 1:00 pm at Lakey Creek Methodist Church Cemetery.
